Big Stick starts fast

CORPORATE team builder Big Stick Adventures has been named among the nation’s fastest growing businesses.|

The corporate incentive and team building company, which recently opened an office in Southport, has cracked the BRW Fast Starters for 2009.

Brett Hollis started the business in 2005.

“We have been conducting an increasing number of incentives across Queensland and NSW recently, so it made sense to have a permanent presence here (Gold Coast),” says Hollis.

“The Big Stick team really enjoys delivering our service on the Gold Coast, where there is such a diverse and interesting menu of experiences to choose from.”

Hollis started Big Stick Adventures as a way of getting paid to go surfing after spending 12 years as a banker in Melbourne.

His vision for the business quickly expanded and in the past four years it has hosted customised team building and incentive experiences in Australia and Asia, hosting groups ranging in size from two to 7000.

In addition to the Gold Coast, the company will also open a Bali office as a result of increasing demand from Asia.
