FIRST PARK RIDGE PROJECT LAUNCHED

THE first residential community within the $400 million Park Ridge Masterplan Area has been unveiled in Logan.

As part of the Logan Planning Scheme, the 25 year redevelopment project is expected to generate more than 13,000 jobs and provide housing for 25,000 new residents.

Developer Australand will launch The Rise as the first family-friendly neighbourhood in the suburb.

Australand Queensland residential general manager Cameron Leggatt says the masterplanned community will stimulate growth in the area by offering affordability.

"With housing affordability throughout Brisbane and south-east Queensland out of reach for many Australians, The Rise is keeping the dream of home ownership alive with house and land from $280,000," Leggatt says.

"Once complete, The Rise will feature 370 lots and house 1100 residents who will enjoy a family-friendly neighbourhood close to retail, public transport and education facilities."

The centre of the project will feature a 10,000sqm elevated parkland, with a playground and open green space.

Logan City Mayor Pam Parker says The Rise is a key part of plans to create a connected and sustainable future for the city.

"The masterplan provides a vision for the area that will encourage future development and improve the area's appeal to investors, visitors, residents and the wider community," Mayor Parker says.

"The area will offer a range of affordable living options, a strong economy, existing and future amenity as well as community facilities and recreational venues."

The Park Ridge plan covers 2450 hectares, including Boronia Heights, Greenbank, Heritage Park and Logan Reserve.
