SUE MORPHET TO HEADLINE LEADERS' EDGE LUNCH

CEO of Pacific Brands Sue Morphet will be the guest speaker at a Leaders’ Edge Lunch Series hosted by the Australian Institute of Company Directors and UQ Business School on May 26

The Leaders’ Edge Lunch Series offers a distinctive experience for the business community to discuss important trends integral to the current and future success of their organisations.

Morphet will talk about how the past two years have seen major consumer changes and how consumers have taken marketing and retail trends into their own hands and away from the traditional retailer and branded goods wholesaler.

An ASX-150 company, Pacific Brands is best known for some of its leading brands including Berlei, Bonds, Clark’s, Hard Yakka, Hush Puppies, Holeproof, Sheridan and Tontine. Following mass redundancies, it still has a workforce of more than 6000 people and generates close to $2 billion in sales annually.

Prior to her appointment as CEO in January 2008, Morphet was group general manager for underwear and hosiery at Pacific Brands, the largest operating group within the business.

Morphet’s working life began in school teaching before moving to run a number of family businesses. From there she worked in marketing roles within a number of large food and fashion companies.
