TECH ONE SEALS FIVE GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS

The latest TechnologyOne deals were struck as part of the OneCouncil initiative – a new preconfigured best practice solution for local government.

Two local government authorities in Victoria – Hepburn and Corangimite shire councils have signed up for OneCouncil in the last month, while Devenport City Council in Tasmania and Victoria’s City of Port Philip and City of Casey are also TechnologyOne customers.

This makes the company’s new business hit rate five for five in the local government sector this year, bringing in more than $1.2 million in new business.

While 80 per cent of Queensland’s local councils already use TechnologyOne software, Brisbane City Council is not a customer.

“We’re currently in discussions with a couple of the larger councils in Queensland about the OneCouncil product, but to our knowledge, the Brisbane City Council currently utilise an overseas based software solution,” says TechnologyOne state manager Steve Terry.

The software is one of the company’s 14 new preconfigured sector specific solutions, which have been developed over the past year by working with hundreds of customers to identify the challenges and to tailor software to address.

TechnologyOne executive chairman and founder Adrian Di Marco (pictured), says it represents a major step forward for the company.

“To achieve our vision, we have invested millions of dollars and realigned our sales, research and development and consulting teams,” he says.

“We did this because our customers told us they wanted to be guided rather than being given a blank sheet and asked ‘what do you want’?

“People often don’t know what is possible, or what other organisations in their sector are doing, so we had an opportunity to gather all the data based on our previous experience and devise a template to show our customers what could be achieved with integrated software.”

Di Marco says the new approach will reduce implementation time, cost of ownership, associated risk and the complexity of the projects, as well as providing a better experience for customers.

“We can quickly and easily fine tune each solution to meet customers’ specific needs and help them realise a faster return on investment. We’ve always had the ability to implement our solutions quicker than our major competitors, but this puts us even further ahead,” he says.

TechnologyOne appeared on Brisbane Business News 2011 Top 50 public company list at No. 29 with market capitalisation of around $300 million.
