AMERICAN GAMING KINGPIN TAKES TOP JOB AT JUPITERS

ECHO Entertainment Group (ASX:EGP) today revealed Aaron Gomes would become the next managing director of Jupiter’s Hotel and Casino.

Gomes brings a wealth of experience from gaming capitals of the United States, including Las Vegas, Nevada and Atlantic City.

The Ivy League graduate, from the University of Pennsylvania, made his career in MGM Resorts in Las Vegas, before managing the Indiana Live Casino and finally becoming a partner in Gomes Gaming, alongside late father and company founder Dennis Gomes.

EGP chief executive officer Larry Mullin says Gomes’ appointment comes at a pivotal time, with the company’s Queensland casinos about to undergo a $625 million renovation as part of Project Icon.

“We have an exciting time ahead of us with project Icon and I look forward to working with Aaron, and the rest of the team on the Gold Coast, as we continue our journey towards becoming a world-class entertainment destination,” says Mullin.

Gomes’ appointment and starting date is subject to regulatory approval from the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation.

Craig Peachey had acted as managing director of Jupiter’s Gold Coast since February 2012.

The search for a new Jupiter’s Gold Coast managing director has been a long one, with Frederic Luvisutto transferred by Echo to Sydney’s The Star casino in February, after less than a year in the job.
