100 STARTUPS THROUGH THE GERMINATOR

QUEENSLAND based startup accelerator, iLab, has celebrated its 100th alumni since beginning in 2012.

Over the last three years, iLab has funded, guided and supported over 100 Queensland tech-based startups with its accelerator and incubator programs.

iLab Director, Bernie Woodcroft, says that with every participant that comes through the program, iLab is getting better and better.

"With our 100 startups, iLab has generated a depth of knowledge about what it really takes to create a successful startup," says Woodcroft.

"We have a profound respect for all our alumni, and have been absolutely privileged to share their journeys and bring our experience and networks to guide and connect them to fast track their start up journeys."

The unique nature of iLab is what makes the program special, according to Phil Livingston, director of Redback Technologies and iLab's 100th participant.

"iLab gives us that passionate, connected and entrepreneurial environment that really helps us establish the innovative company culture we need," says Livingston.

"It is a place where we can build a serious global business."

iLab has enjoyed continuing support from both the Queensland State Government, and The University of Queensland.

The centre's eighth Germinate program is now open for applications. Startups who join can expect the funding, mentoring, facilities and the network to grab momentum and get their project underway.
