WATPAC WOOS MARY LANE

WATPAC has won the contract for the $325 million Mary Lane development and is now preparing to shape executive living in Brisbane CBD.

The Brisbane construction business has been awarded the 37-level residential, hotel and dining precinct contract by property developer Mary 111 Pty Ltd. The precinct will also feature Brisbane's newest 5-star hotel, The Westin, and 184 residences.

The developer holds significant interests in Brisbane's CBD and is known for the neighbouring Four Points by Sheraton at 99 Mary Street.

A multilayered atrium with laneways, fine dining and bars will feature at 111 Mary Street and in the residential quarter, four podium levels with a pool, gym, day spa, function space, lobby bar and restaurant below a recreation deck.

Watpac managing director Martin Monro says the company is excited to be involved with a landmark Brisbane project.

"Mary Lane is going to shape executive living in Brisbane, and the standard of luxury hotels in the CBD, so we are delighted to be delivering this project on behalf of Mary 111 Pty Ltd," says Monro.

"This has been a highly anticipated development for Brisbane and Watpac's appointment as builder is a strong endorsement of our skills and experience in delivering major projects in challenging CBD locations."

Works are expected to commence in April and the build timeframe is estimated at 24 months, pointing to completion in 2018.

Apartments will be priced between $460,000 to $2 million-plus.
