GUESTS GIVE BIG AT RAY WHITE BALL

GUESTS GIVE BIG AT RAY WHITE BALL

JUST shy of $100,000 was raised by Gold Coasters at the Ray White Surfers Paradise Muscular Dystrophy Ball.

The Ball, over its 22 years, has raised $3 million for Muscular Dystrophy Queensland.

"Gold Coasters have demonstrated year on year that they're some of the most generous Australians and it's a credit to our community," says Ray White Surfers Paradise CEO Andrew Ball.

"Everyone was willing to dig a little deeper this year, which I believe is a reflection of the more buoyant economic conditions on the Gold Coast.

"The wonderful thing about this event and the thing that keeps people coming back every year is that it is light on formality, and filled with entertainment and fun.

"Perhaps that puts people in a giving mood."

Auction items included overseas and interstate holidays and experiences, a moped, jewellery and artwork.

The evening's headline entertainer was X-factor contestant Reigan Derry, with entertainment stretching well past midnight at Sheraton Mirage.
