BRANSON STEPS UP BIOFUEL RESEARCH

BRANSON STEPS UP BIOFUEL RESEARCH

VIRGIN Group founder Sir Richard Branson is investing heavily in research that will see emissions from his Virgin airline fleet cut considerably by adopting biofuel technology.

It follows research by the CSIRO, where senior scientists are aiming for a 2015 take-off for a renewable biofuel industry.

“Clean energy is becoming increasingly important for cities like Brisbane – we’re running out of oil and we have the problem of global warming. As business leaders, one of our top priorities must be to create alternative and clean fuels that won’t affect our food supply,” says Branson.

Branson also talks to Brisbane Business News about the group’s accelerated plans for the carbon tax, and adventure – to the far reaches of space and deep below the sea. To read more please get your copy of the August edition at more than 500 greater Brisbane newsagents now.
