Former BOQ boss Jon Sutton named ScotPac CEO

SME lender Scottish Pacific (ScotPac) has appointed the former boss of Bank of Queensland (ASX: BOQ) and Bankwest Jon Sutton (pictured) as its new chief executive officer today.

Sutton will take over the role from current CEO Peter Langham, who will be stepping into a non-executive board role.

The new ScotPac boss served as CEO of BOQ until late 2018 when he resigned due to health issues which are now resolved. Sutton was replaced by former Westpac executive George Frazis as the CEO of BOQ in June.

Sutton, who is also the former head of rural and agri banking at Commonwealth Bank (ASX: CBA), will commence in his role at ScotPac on 7 October.

"Jon's experience with SMEs and his passion to help business owners succeed make him a great addition to the ScotPac business," says outgoing CEO Langham.

"It's so important for businesses to find the right funding support we've seen that with the events of 2020, and it's a factor that's not going away."

Sutton also joined the advisory board of Gold Coast-based foreign exchange payments startup SendFX back in May.

"A man of Jon's calibre and experience could work with anyone, so we're proud that he has chosen to work with Send," said co-founder Paul Billing at the time.

"We're looking forward to tapping into his knowledge to help catapult Send's growth and product offering so we can provide even more value to our partners and clients."
