ENERGY SUPER APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN

BOB Henricks has announced he will step down as chairman of Energy Super, after almost two decades in the role.

Henricks will remain on the industry super fund's board of directors and will be succeeded by former deputy chair Mark Williamson (pictured).

Henricks says he is looking forward to contributing to Energy Super's growth and success in the future.

"I'm proud of what Energy Super, and its predecessor funds, have been able to achieve for working Australians in helping to secure their financial futures," he says.

"Workers in Australia's energy sector have unique needs and our mission will always be to ensure these needs are met."

Henricks began his career as an apprentice electrician in 1961, before he was first appointed as director then chair of the company's predecessor ESIS(Q) in 1995.

He was instrumental is the formation of Energy Super through numerous mergers, with the fund amassing more than $5.5 billion in funds under management.

Director Scott Wilson has been appointed as deputy chair.
