Dressed for success (2/6)

SEVEN Brisbane companies have received grants totalling $250,000 in the Federal Government’s Textile, Clothing and Footwear (TCF) Small Business Program.

Maiocchi Clothing, The Corporate Tailors, Maria Nelson, Sacha Drake, Bambam Cloth, Corser & O’Malley and Rope on Line have joined 60 small businesses Australia-wide in receiving innovation grants.

Innovation Minister Senator Kim Carr says the grants, ranging from $11,000 to $50,000, focus on improving the business enterprise culture of TCF small businesses through marketing, R&D and business development strategies.

“The future of Australia’s TCF industry lies in becoming more agile, innovative and entrepreneurial,” says Senator Carr.

“It is about the development of new products and processes, especially at the high-tech, high-value end of the market. This round has been extremely competitive, with (more than) 250 businesses applying for grants.”
