PRESTIGIOUS BUSINESS AWARDS TO BE DECIDED

BARRY Robinson (pictured left with Matt Taplin) has congratulated the Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific (WVRAP) team on winning the monthly Gold Coast Business Excellence Award as the finalists prepare for the annual awards this weekend.

WVRAP won the tourism, hospitality and events category in October, which puts it in the running to win the overall 2012 award on Saturday night at Jupiter’s Hotel and Casino.

Robinson, CEO and managing of the holiday ownership company, credited the entire team’s cohesiveness and unity for the positive result.

“Winning this accolade was truly a team effort, with the nomination demonstrating how the many areas of our business work together as one team to achieve exceptional results,” he says.

The Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards is one of the most prestigious business awards in the region, with the winners of nine categories each month from May to October being named finalists at the annual awards.

More than 520 people will attend the event on Saturday night to see the annual winner crowned.

"We have our highest number of attendees in GCBEA history, which we think is a good sign that the business economy is turning," says event director Lisa Maddison.

WVRAP has separately been nominated as finalist in the Unique Accommodation category of the Queensland Tourism Awards, which will be announced on Friday evening in Brisbane.

“The recognition we are receiving is the result of a combination of exceptional work ethics and dedication from each and every area within the company,” says Robinson.
