NEW ALLCONNEX WATER CEO APPOINTED

ALLCONNEX Water has appointed Andrew Foley (pictured) as its CEO following the resignation of Kim Wood from his $447,277 a year post.

The former general manager of strategy and development at the controversial water reseller, Foley will commence chief executive duties on November 11.

According to a company issued press release, he will be ‘working closely with our three participating councils to ensure a smooth transition of water and wastewater services on 1 July 2012’.

Foley has worked for more than 10 years in the water industry in a range of areas and has previously worked as part of the management team at the former Gold Coast Water.

Adopting the laconic approach of his predecessor, Foley offered no comment today.

Gold Coast City Council made the call to disconnect from Allconnex Water in September.

The majority of councillors agreed to disband the water retailer by June 30, 2012 at an estimated cost of around $100 million.

Chairman John Dempsey vacated the Allconnex board on September 30.
