GOLD COAST TO BE MARKETED THE IDEAL WINTER DESTINATION

GOLD COAST TO BE MARKETED THE IDEAL WINTER DESTINATION

A new campaign for Gold Coast tourism is set to roll out this week, showcasing the industry ahead of the school holidays.

The ‘Famous for Fun’ And Action campaign will target the key Sydney, Melbourne and South-East Queensland markets, promoting the Gold Coast as an ideal getaway destination this season.

Tourism Minister Jann Stucky says the campaign is designed to showcase the regions many tourism attractions and experience in a winter context.

“Tourism and Events Queensland has partnered with Gold Coast Tourism to promote the region’s tourism products and experiences in the lead up to the winter school holiday period,” says Stuckey.

Gold Coast Tourism CEO Martin Winter says more than 66 local businesses will be marketing in the new campaign.

“This campaign reinforces the Gold Coast reputation as the perfect winter escape for visitors,” says Winter.

In 2013 the Gold Coast welcomed 3.5 million domestic visitors; more than 600,000 of which from Sydney alone.
