Demand soars for Emirates' Brisbane to Dubai direct

DEMAND for flights to the Middle East and a robust promotional drive by Emirates has resulted in Emirates flying direct from Brisbane to Dubai twice daily to its new T3 terminal.

Flight EK435 joins the existing service (EK433 via Singapore) and will depart Brisbane daily at 8.30pm, arriving in Dubai at 5.30am the following day.

Emirates Queensland sales manager Jenny Trebilcock says the second daily service will provide Queensland passengers with the first direct, non-stop option between Dubai and Brisbane and ‘just one-stop from the rest of the world’.

“Emirates’ extensive route network now consists of 101 destinations worldwide, including destinations such as Nice, Glasgow and Milan, which are less frequented by international carriers from Australia and just an example of Emirates’ route network of 22 European cities,”
says Trebilcock.

“Emirates identified Brisbane as a key destination when it established the route in October 2003 and this additional route demonstrates the airline’s dedication to Queensland and the demand for services to and from the Sunshine State.”

Emirates is operating its state-of-the-art Airbus A340-500, offering 12 luxurious private suites in first class, 42 seats in business class and space for 204 passengers in economy. The new flight will provide an additional 258 seats per day to and from Brisbane.

Passengers in all classes will enjoy meals prepared by gourmet chefs, award-winning service from its international cabin crew recruited from more than 100 countries, as well as Emirates’ cutting-edge ICE(information, communication, entertainment) system, which offers a selection of more than 600 channels of entertainment on demand, as well as the ability to send and receive email and text messages from personal in-seat entertainment systems. The launch of the second daily service in Brisbane coincides with an increase to thrice-daily services for Emirates in Melbourne and the introduction of the A380 on the Dubai to Sydney and onto Auckland route three times a week.

Emirates also operate a double daily service between Perth and Dubai and flies daily from Brisbane to Auckland.
