BOAT SHOW BOOSTED BY SUPERYACHT CONFERENCE

BOAT SHOW BOOSTED BY SUPERYACHT CONFERENCE

A MAJOR marine export conference will be held at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show for the third consecutive year.

The Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX) will be held at the InterContinental Hotel Sanctuary Cove (previously Hyatt Regency) from May 20-22, the days leading up to the four-day boat show.

Event co-ordinator, Victoria Smith, says the event will be the biggest yet, improving on the 110 visitors it boasted this year.

“Previously the event has been held at The Village Theatre, but predicted growth and interest will see next year’s conference move to the onsite hotel,” says Smith, the Australian International Marine Export Group and Superyacht Australia operations manager.

Sanctuary Cove general manager for marketing and events Sue Thomson says the conference is a well-timed opportunity, wrapping up the day before the Boat Show commences.

“There will certainly be a great energy here with final Boat Show preparations and the conference amplifying the SCIBS hype.”

The conference will incorporate presentations from international delegates, a gala dinner and presentation of the 2013 Club Marine Australian Marine Industry Export and Superyacht Awards.
