Holy Crap! Online toilet paper retailer cleared out by panic buyers

Panic buyers have swept through our local shopping centres, scooping up as much toilet paper as they can as mass coronavirus hysteria takes hold of Australia.

The paranoid response seemingly knows no boundaries, with even online ethical toilet paper manufacturer Who Gives A Crap (WGAC) running out of stock.

According to a statement posted on its website, WGAC says the panic buying in response to the looming threat of coronavirus Covid-19 has left the company without any rolls of its sustainable toilet paper.

It's a shitty situation for those of us who are running out of TP at home as the virus situation unfolds.

The sudden explosion of panic buying toilet paper emerged earlier this week, with shoppers inspired to go full bunker mode in the face of Covid-19.

Reports from around the country are showing supermarket aisles barren of any signs of toilet paper at all.

The craziness has even forced Woolworths to impose a four packet per person rule when buying toilet paper.

Both Coles and Woolworths have since assured panic buyers there is absolutely no need for this sort of manic behaviour, saying they have plenty of stock to go around.

Even PM Scott Morrison weighed in on the topic, telling Australians not to panic.

"All the advice we have is people can just get about their daily business," said PM Morrison to 3AW.

"We're certainly very well prepared."

Naturally, Twitter has had a field day with the panic buying madness. Here's some of our favourite posts:
