DANCING AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

DANCING AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

BRISBANE CEOs have danced their feet off in aid of Women's Legal Service at the Glitter Ball Gala Dinner.

On Friday 27 March, the Brisbane City Hall ballroom was taken back to a carefree era of flares, glitter and platform shoes, although for a serious cause.

Six CEOs swapped the boardroom table for the dancefloor to support the work of Women's Legal Service in delivering free legal and welfare assistance to Queensland women and their children affected by domestic violence.

Each year, Women's Legal Service assists more than 3200 women, but resource constraints means that another 16,000 women who attempt to contact the Service remain unassisted.

Participating CEOS were Fleur Madden (The Red Republic), Francesca Webster (Brazilian Beauty), Andrew Smith (Grant Thornton Australia), AmyLee (Mission Beautiful Australia), Emma Herbert (Women's Property Panel) and Ross Cameron (barrister).

Madden trumped in both People's Choice and Judges Choice categories, the latter decided by Damien Anthony Rossi (Sunday Mail), Karl Schwantes (Xennox Diamonds), Iolande Skinner (In the Moment Media) and Matt Browning (international dancer and choreographer).

The others kicked big goals too.

Webster (pictured) drummed up support throughout her Brazilian Beauty network to raise a total of $5680 for the cause.

To assist her fundraising efforts, Webster sold raffle tickets across Brazilian Beauty's 20 salons throughout March for a $5000 luxury boat cruise, Brazilian Beauty gift vouchers and an Australian Skin Institute product hamper.

"I am incredibly grateful for all of the overwhelming support I have received," says Webster.

"It was a fantastic event to participate in and something completely exhilarating and out of my comfort zone."
