AUSTRALIA NO LONGER IGNORED BY PAYROLL SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS

PAYROLL Metrics has brought an Australian solution to a problem typically ignored by international software developers.

The Melbourne-based company has developed new cloud-based payroll and workforce management software to bring Australia up to speed with the rest of the developed world.

The product brings together the three most important elements of human resources management in one place: human capital management (HCM), workforce management (WFM), and payroll stack.

Greg McManus, Payroll Metrics' managing director (pictured), says there are two reasons for the shortage of investment in new payroll and WFM software in the past 20 years in Australia.

"The major payroll software developers in North America and Europe are not attracted to Australia because of its small population of only 11 million employed people, and because it is complex by world standards," he says.

"So, I saw an opportunity to develop a software as a service (SaaS) solution drawing together WFM and payroll. These are the components of the HCM/WFM/payroll stack that are distinctively Australian."

Companies today want to replace their legacy systems with highly flexible, SaaS-only developments, where solutions move beyond their formal rigid architecture, and this is what Payroll Metrics does.

"Payroll Metrics has the ability to become a 'black box' companion application to an HCM," says McManus.

"This is achieved by white branding and using APIs that allow the HCM to be the source of truth for the Payroll Metrics employee database."

The APIs enable the HCM to create, edit and terminate employees. There are also APIs that transfer leave balances and transaction data between Payroll Metrics and the connected HCM.

"In fact, it is not just HCMs that we are integrating with, we have integrated with labour hire applications and industry specific project management solutions," says McManus.

Payroll Metrics' goal is to assist the pay office at organisations of all sizes to operate at peak efficiency, while minimising the possibility of making errors.

"To this end we remain committed in our mission to provide payroll and workforce management software integrated into a homogenous set of payroll programs to achieve peak efficiency," says McManus.

Payroll Metrics has also invested in a customer service management system to service clients and to support continuous efficiency improvements.

Employers looking to upgrade their payroll and WFM solution to the cloud and integrate one of the hot cloud based HCM solutions will need to put Payroll Metrics at the top of their shopping list.
