AIRSERVICE GIVES THEME PARK QUEUES A SERVE

A SYDNEY startup has teamed up with Village Roadshow Theme Parks to deliver a 'world-first' app to speed up the ordering process at its food outlets.

AirService will launch eServe at two restaurants at Warner Bros. Movie World, before rolling out the system at Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast and Wet'n'Wild Sydney.

Patrons order and pay for food using the app, which is then delivered directly to their private cabana.

AirService co-founder and CEO Dominic Bressan (pictured) says eServe is the first app of its kind and allows guests to make the most of their experience at the theme park.

The closest comparison is a pilot from Disney World in Orlando, which tested an app that enabled in-venue ordering and food delivery during a night-time show.

"Imagine you're a family out at the theme park," Bressan says.

"Instead of standing in a queue with your young children and missing out on all the fun of Movie World, you just make an order and continue to enjoy the rides and entertainment until your food is ready to pick up."

AirService has delivered ordering and payment technology for a wide range of businesses, including GPT Group, LendLease, Meter Maids and the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Village Roadshow Theme Parks spokesperson Selena Magill says eServe is a new way for the company to connect with guests and offer them a premium service.

"In addition to taking the logical step of making the ordering process easier for our customers, we also want to make their visit to our parks as exciting and memorable an experience as possible," Magill says.

"The introduction of eServe has been a huge success so far at Movie World and we're anticipating a similar response when it's expanded to Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast and Sydney.

"It's great to be able to work with AirService to implement the latest technology and really give our customers an A-grade dining experience."
