MICHAEL HILL TAKES A BITE OUT OF BIG APPLE

NEW York is home to even more glamour, with Michael Hill International opening its second store in the Big Apple.

The new addition marks the New Zealand founded and Brisbane-based jeweler's 11th store in the US, opening its doors at Roosevelt Field in Long Island.

The shopping mall hosts 22 million visitors each year, and is home to iconic brands including H&M, Apple and Bloomingdale's.

The new Michael Hill store features a wide range of diamond rings, including Sir Michael's personally designed bridal collection proving to be a popular choice at the first New York location in the Queens Centre.

Michael Hill International CEO Mike Parsell says the company's experience in the city has been positive, bolstering the possibility of further overseas expansion.

"We are thrilled to open in Roosevelt Field and we look forward to introducing even more New Yorkers to our unique and inspiring range," Parsell says.

"It gives us confidence to continue looking for new opportunities."

Michael Hill Group now owns 302 stores in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the US.
