ONE KEY RESOURCES EYES THE HUNTER
ONE Key Resources has acquired NSW labour hire business Pegasus Employment.

The mining and infrastructure labour hire and workforce services specialist, which former footballer Darren Lockyer is a director of, has acquired the business from integrated Hunter Valley firm Pegasus.

One Key Resources managing director Grant Wechsel says his company is well-suited to accommodate to 25-year-old Pegasus' exit from labour hire.

The purchase will build on One Key Resource's commitment to Australia's volatile coal industry, and signal Pegasus' focus on contractor engagement and workforce management services.

"We've had experience ourselves in the [Hunter Valley] region with our own operation based at Singleton," says Wechsel.

"We are excited to build on the great reputation that Pegasus has in the local area and believe our commitment to exceptional service combined with our strong industry background will make for a successful business in the long term."

Approximately 170 field staff have transitioned across to One Key Resources with three permanent Pegasus local staff also joining the One Key office in Singleton.

One Key Resources regional manager for NSW Todd Geddes will be overseeing the local operation, with Lockyer embarking on a tour of the region in the coming months, who plays a key role in business development and client and community relations.

This acquisition continues the company's national expansion servicing mining, gas an infrastructure, on the back of a joint venture to provide much-needed labour hire solutions to the Northern Territory, which builds on an already strong presence in Queensland and Western Australia.

Wechsel took out the Professional Services category at the Brisbane Young Entrepreneur Awards last year. Click here to find out more if you think you might be in for a shot.
