ECHO CASINOS SCORE TOP EMPLOYER AWARD

ECHO Entertainment Group (ASX:EGP) has been recognised as a top employer, after two of its properties received nods at the Queensland Training Awards.

Treasury Casino & Hotel and Jupiters Hotel & Casino have been named the state's Employer of the Year for excellence in training.

Both properties will compete for the national title in the Australian Training Awards in November.

Echo Queensland group managing director Geoff Hogg says the win is a testament to the company's 3500 employees and their dedication.

"As one of Queensland's biggest private sector employers, we invest heavily into the development of our culture and the specific skills of our employees," Hogg says.

"This is an approach we will continue to build on with the more than 2000 jobs during construction and the 8000 jobs that will be created once the new integrated resort at Queen's Wharf Brisbane is operational.

"We are delighted to have been selected as the preferred proponent for this development and the opportunity it provides for training, skills development and careers in tourism, entertainment and hospitality.

"We continue to build on our commitment to invest in our people and provide them with the opportunities where they can learn, grow and develop through a rewarding career."

Jupiters and Treasury were recognised for its training strategy that combines cultural interventions, tailored career progression and skills training for staff and wider community.

It follows partnerships with TAFE Queensland and Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) to create opportunities in the hospitality industry.
