TECHONE INVESTS IN NEXT GENERATION

TECHONE INVESTS IN NEXT GENERATION

TECHNOLOGYONE (ASX:TNE) has teamed up with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) to encourage students to consider a career in technology.

The enterprise software provider will sponsor Big Day In events across Australia for three years, as well as exhibit to 400 students at QUT next week.

TechnologyOne executive chairman Adrian Di Marco (pictured) says the goal is to inspire students to pursue careers in the IT industry.

"Australia has a growing shortage of STEM qualified professionals, and it is critical that we as an Australian software company, get students interested in technology to sustain and grow our national technology industry," Di Marco says.

"These kids are the next generation of IT professionals and our future industry leaders. It's exciting to consider their potential and the creative impact they can have on the future of IT, and perhaps even the future of TechnologyOne."

Di Marco says the sponsorship agreement forms a key part of the company's investment into expanding the IT industry in Australia.

The company's graduate program employs at least 12 students into its research and development centre, and will take on two graduates in its Western Australia office for the first time this year.

TechnologyOne's R&D director Brett Hooker and evangelist Matt Deshon will speak at Big Day In on July 23.
