ONE KEY RESOURCES EXPANDS FOOTPRINT WITH NEW PARTNERSHIP

BRISBANE-based workforce specialist One Key Resources has teamed up with Wedgetail Larrakia Corporation to facilitate employment opportunities in the Northern Territory.

The One Key Larrakia joint venture will provide labour hire, recruitment and skills training for both indigenous and non-indigenous people across the state.

Between 100 and 200 people are expected to be placed into work by mid-2015, in positions including general labour, equipment operators, engineering and management.

One Key Resources managing director Grant Wechsel says there are exciting prospects in the Northern Territory as the company expands its national footprint.

"Our specialist expertise particularly in major gas, construction and mining projects will provide a ready-made pool of highly qualified, productive and safety conscious workers to the industry," Wechsel says.

"By partnering with the local traditional owners of the Darwin area, the Larrakia people, we are confident we can collectively succeed in growing One Key Larrakia into a productive and innovative local labour hire and workforce development business."

The majority of successful placements so far have been local Larrakia and other indigenous candidates, according to the 2014 Brisbane Young Entrepreneur Professional Services winner.

One Key Larrakia has several workforce partnerships underway, including placements with construction contractor BMD Group, Compass Group at the Manigurr-ma Village and Australian Agricultural Company's new Livingstone Beef facility.

Director of the Northern Territory-based Wedgetail Larrakia Corporation Nigel Browne (pictured left with director Joe Proctor) says it was an exhaustive process to find a suitable partner with appropriate experience.

"The One Key Larrakia partnership will allow us to forge ahead for the benefit of our people," Browne says.

"Given the massive liquefied natural gas and construction opportunities now and over the next decade we believe that by establishing this partnership with One Key Resources we are able to offer the government, major proponents and contractors a service of significant value and capability."
