NEW CEO FOR SEDGMAN

NEW CEO FOR SEDGMAN
SEDGMAN Limited (ASX:SDM) has promoted regional director Peter Watson (pictured) to managing director and CEO.

Watson has been with the resource sector company since 2010, responsible for the Australia West, Africa and Americas regions.

Chairman Russell Kempnich says the decision was unanimous, after spending months searching for the right candidate.

“His depth of experience and proven leadership in running both our Australian and international regions over the last four years provides a strong foundation to continue to deliver Sedgman’s position as a leading provider of solutions to the global resources industry,” he says.

Watson has more than 25 years’ experience as a chemical engineer and was instrumental in securing La Mancha’s Mungari Gold Project in Western Australia and the Coalspur Vista Project in Canada.

Watson says he looks forward to leading the next stage of the company’s development.

“Sedgman is a great company with a proud history and it has been both personally and professionally rewarding to be involved with the company over the last few years,” he says.

He commences the new role at the start of June, replacing Nick Jukes who is retiring from the company.

“Since joining Sedgman in January 2011, Nick has maintained stability in challenging market conditions and leaves Sedgman in a solid position to capitalise on emerging opportunities.

“To ensure a seamless transition a comprehensive handover process will occur during May and Nick will remain available to assist until his retirement at the end of June,” Kempnich says.
