VILLA WORLD MAKES A START ON LOGAN PROJECT

HOUSING developer Villa World (ASX:VLW) has broken ground on its latest project at Logan City with plans to roll out the development over the next 18 months.

The Sanctuary at Woodlands, located in the final stage of Lend Lease's Woodlands master-planned community, will comprise 81 homes to be built on a fully approved site acquired by Villa World in December.

Villa World national sales manager Robyn Valmadre says The Sanctuary is the latest addition to the company's growing pipeline of projects for the company in south-east Queensland.

She says The Sanctuary is consistent with Villa World's expanding workbook of projects.

"The demographics of the Waterford area and the Woodlands community suits the Villa World buyer profile first, second, and third home buyers. We will be able to deliver affordable, quality product priced at around $400,000."

Logan City Council Division 4 Councillor Don Petersen, whose area takes in Waterford, says realisation of The Sanctuary would provide much-needed housing for the burgeoning Logan area.

"Woodlands estate is already a growing family-oriented area and this final phase of its development will create new housing opportunities for families and people looking to move here," he says.

Civil works is poised to start at The Sanctuary with house construction expected to begin in May and settlements anticipated from October onwards.

Delivery of The Sanctuary will complete the Woodlands community, which is already home to more than 3500 people.

Woodlands is close to a number of public and private schools, tertiary institutions and shopping centres including Waterford Plaza and Beenleigh Marketplace.

Established in 1986, the Gold Coast-based Villa World is Queensland's oldest ASX-listed developer and one of Australia's largest housing providers.
