Trio of awards for Condev

CONDEV Construction has pulled off a tectonic trifecta.

It’s Campus Alpha project won for Health and Education Facilities $4 million $15 million and Best Use of Steel Cladding (Roof and Walls), while its Morris International development won the Commercial Buildings (Office Accommodation) $4 million $15 million category.

According to the project team, Campus Alpha at Robina is not just a good looking building; good relationships were also formed and the high quality of the project is a consequence of professional collaboration.

Director of Condev Construction Steve Marais, says Campus Alpha is a benchmark project.

“We believe there is no substitute for understanding and communicating requirements and consequently doing it right the first time,” he says.

“We are resolution driven and dispute averse and by thorough planning we have an exceptional ability to meet programmed milestones.”

In order not to be caught up in the shortage of work that would be inevitable in the building industry with private developers withdrawing from the market or putting projects on the back burner, the company grabbed the opportunity to improve in every which way.

In a record 14 weeks, Condev achieved three international certification standards in the first quarter of this year: In the second quarter it was graded PQC level 3 by the Queensland Government to undertake public works.

Morris International
The new Morris International office at 34 Nerang Street presented unique and challenging opportunities for Condev to display exceptional construction, programming and management skills.

The office was purpose built for wine and property tycoon Terry Morris’ company Morris International, a data processing, mail management and property organisation.

Condev Construction is moving ahead with no false ideas of how tough the market is going to be, but feels that the increased public works provided by the government stimulus package will go a long way to helping the market recover.
