TPG and HUB24 slammed for all male company boards

TPG and HUB24 slammed for all male company boards

The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) have slammed four major Australian companies for having no women on their boards.

HUB24, NRW Holdings, Emeco Holdings, and TPG Telecom have all been called out by the AICD for having no women on their boards as of 30 June 2019.

Additionally, the AICD has revealed that gender diversity on the boards of Australia's largest companies has not yet hit the 30 per cent target.

At the end of the financial year women represented 29.7 per cent of directors on ASX 200 boards.

In 2015, the AICD called for ASX 200 companies to achieve 30 per cent women on boards by the end of 2018.

AICD CEO and managing director Angus Armour says it is disappointing to see progress towards this target stalling.

"While gender diversity on boards is not sliding backwards, the figures haven't shifted since December 2018 and clearly more work needs to be done," says Armour.

"Boards struggling with gender diversity should ask themselves if their search processes are effective and competitive enough to access the large talent pool of female directors in Australia."

"The AICD will continue to advocate strongly on gender diversity."
