Brisbane entrepreneurs Kristen Souvlis and Nadine Bates find talent in all that they do.

Having successfully forged a path in children's media through Like a Photon Creative, which has previously created content for the likes of Sesame Street, the duo has now set their sights on a new avenue of business.

Like a Photon has launched its first app which aims to showcase Australian talent on smaller screens for children.

KinderGo was officially released to the market last month and is a platform ideal for kids aged between two and five who want to engage with enriched learning, reading and gaming activities.

Described as a digital playground, the program focuses on enticing children with the use of fun language and unique illustrations.

Souvlis says that this new venture will allow benefits and cohesion for each of the company's modules.

"Because we create content, television and film we can feed that through our app, and feed that back through our television model. I think we're the only company to do that," she says.

The app is not only a learning experience for children, but also an opportunity for Australian authors, writers and illustrators to publish content which remains their own.

These creatives can use the online platform to upload their work for approval.

Souvlis and Bates plan to continue the development of KinderGo and aim to take the app global.

"We want our content to go worldwide through an English as a second language market," says Souvlis.

With lock-out timing features, a no-ad guarantee and educational content KinderGo proves appealing to children and parents.

Like A Photon's app has a sole focus on the educational and ethical lessons children are receiving through their work and collaboration with Australian artists.

"We have gender parity in the heart of everything that we do, we try to have diversity on our slate, in our content and also in our staff, says Souvlis.

The pair pays a special thanks to Advance  Queensland, Brisbane Angels and Screen Queensland for helping bring KinderGo to life.
