TAX BOMB: ARE YOU PREPARED?

WHEN economic commentator Peter Switzer described the 2011 Federal Budget as ‘all about nothing’, he must have had Australia’s small business capital – the Gold Coast – in mind.

Now it’s tax time and while the extent of the red herring initiatives will not be realised until 2013, it’s timely that Gold Coast Business News clarifies some key points.

The Gillard Government proclaimed to make tax ‘simpler’ for small businesses with new initiatives to encourage growth, but in the short-term at least, small business in this city will continue to haemorrhage.
