MERGER CREATES A NEW COMMERCIAL FORCE

IN A move to bolster its commercial and property division, Rostron Carlyle has finalised its latest merger with boutique firm AG Edwards.

Both firms officially joined forces in late November, following some months of discussion and planning.

According to Rostron Carlyle commercial and property partner Gavin McInnes (pictured), AG Edwards brings valuable proficiency in corporate finance to the table.

"AG Edwards brings additional expertise to Rostron Carlyle's commercial and property group, in particular the team's specialised experience in corporate and commercial, capital markets, banking, finance and financial services sectors," says McInnes.

"Strategic merges, such as this one with AG Edwards, means we can continue to evolve and offer a variety of legal advice and services to help support the daily and ongoing operations of [our clients'] businesses."

Under the agreement, the AG Edwards name and existing office locations will dissolve into the Rostron Carlyle brand.

The union also signifies Rostron Carlyle's first step into the Gold Coast market, through the former AG Edwards Robina office.

AG Edwards principal Adrian Edwards says the merger provides key opportunities for the future growth of his team.

"The AG Edwards team brings more than 20 years of legal, compliance and financial experience to Rostron Carlyle," says Edwards.

"The merge with Rostron Carlyle will enable the AG Edwards team to continue to develop their knowledge and capabilities with the support of one of Brisbane's top law firms.

"We look forward to working with Rostron Carlyle clients and introducing our client base to the additional range of services that are now available directly to them."

Edwards and his cohort will join Rostron Carlyle's 100-strong national workforce.

McInnes says that Rostron Carlyle is always on the look-out for growth opportunities, through each of its divisions.
