FRIZELLE'S LIFTS A GEAR WITH BRISBANE PUSH

JAMES Frizelle’s Automotive Group is shifting up a gear laying plans to push into the Brisbane market with two new dealerships in 2015.

The Gold Coast-based group has acquired a site at 3389–3397 Pacific Highway, Slacks Creek, where it will locate two of its prestige marques – Audi and Jaguar Land Rover.

The Audi Centre will occupy 6000sqm and the Jaguar Land Rover dealership 4560sqm.

Development has already started on the Audi Centre Springwood with completion set for September 2015.

Group operations manager Rebecca Frizelle (pictured) says it has taken several years to find the right site with the right visibility for the company’s expansion and she has labelled the new location as a “prime parcel of land”.

“Our next step will be to have Springwood safely under way and operating and then we will begin potential future expansion projects as opportunities arise,” she says.

The automotive group, founded in 1985 by James Frizelle, is among the Gold Coast’s largest. It comprises a chain of five new and used car dealerships straddling the Queensland and NSW border and sells more than 8000 new and used vehicles each year.

The family-owned business started with a team of just nine staff and now boasts a workforce of more than 600.

Rebecca Frizelle says the growth of the company would not have been possible without the support and assistance of the Gold Coast community and she attributes the success of the business to listening to the needs and wants of the community.

“While it is a city that is rapidly growing, it’s still very much has a local town mentality and loyalty, customer service and honesty are key to running a successful business here,” she says.

The Springwood space adds to dealerships in Lismore, Tweed Heads, Robina, Nerang, Southport and a distribution centre in Arundel.
