FOUR POINTS OPENING SHOWS CONFIDENCE IN LEISURE MARKET

STARWOOD Hotels and Resorts Worldwide is on track for another bumper year of growth, following the opening of Four Points by Sheraton in Brisbane.

It’s the first globally recognised, new-build property to open in the city in more than a decade, joining hotels in Sydney, Perth and Geelong.

Regional vice president Pacific Sean Hunt says they are excited to bring the brand to one of Australia’s most “economically vibrant cities”.

“Brisbane is a leading choice among business and leisure travellers and the new Four Points is ideally positioned to cater to these different markets with a range of signature offerings and stylish accommodation,” he says.

Lord Mayor Graham Quirk (pictured centre) says it shows confidence in the city’s tourism industry and property market.

“It’s always a good sign for Brisbane’s economy when major international brands set up shop and serve as a drawcard for interstate and international tourists.

“It’s great to have Starwood back in our city after more than a decade.”

Local company Noel Robinson Architects designed the 32-storey tower, featuring 246 rooms.

Starwood plans to expand all of its nine brands globally and aims to open 60 hotels in Europe by 2020.
