FLIGHT CENTRE FLIES IN TO SAVE DICK SMITH STAFF
STAFF of fallen electrical retailer Dick Smith have been given the opportunity to be fast-tracked to the end stage of Flight Centre's (ASX: FLT) recruitment process.

Flight Centre Travel Group has contacted Dick Smith receivers Ferrier Hodgson to offer employees the chance to start a new career in the travel industry, including travel sales consultant and support roles.

Flight Centre Travel Group's global human resources director Carol Cooper says the fellow retailer empathises with the position of Dick Smith's 2460 employees nationwide who are set to lose their positions.

"We are offering all Dick Smith employees the opportunity to fast-track their application to the final stage of our recruitment process," says Cooper.

"We sympathise with the tough position these employees are in and recognise that they have good customer service skills and sale experience that we believe would make them an asset to our company."

Dick Smith employees interested in a career with Flight Centre can contact the company's recruitment managers via a dedicated email address.
