eSense-Lab reports major progress in R&D strengthening their position in the market

Medicinal cannabis and life sciences company eSense-Lab Ltd (ASX: ESE) has reported major progress in its research and development (R&D) of medical cannabis terpene blends.
The company has reported progress in its R&D activity demonstrating arobust antioxidant activity for its medical cannabis terpene blends, manifested by a dose response of up to five per cent. Terpenes are responsible for the aroma of cannabis.
The company says these developments strengthen eSense's penetration into the medical cannabis markets and significant strengthens eSense's IP.
The group also says these developments expands eSense's revenue generating markets and puts it ahead of its competitors.
eSense conducted a series of testing for antioxidant activity across its medical cannabis terpene blends including Girl Scout Cookies, OG-Kush, Sour Diesel, Jack Herer, Daniel, Super Lemon Haze, Gorilla Glue, Chees and Granddaddy Purple.
The company says a clear antioxidant activity could be seen for each one of the tested blends.
By fractioning the major terpene constituent of Jack Herer and testing each one of them for an antioxidant activity, the company says it was able to show that the antioxidant activity of each major terpene tested alone and in a mixture was significantly weaker than the antioxidant activity of the full Jack Herer blend.
eSense says this supports the notion of cannabis terpenes showing a significant antioxidant potency when acting as a whole in comparison to acting as single molecules.
eSense CEO Haim Cohen says the results are encouraging.
"We are very excited abiout this progress," says Cohen.
"eSense continually achieves new R&D heights, providing an ability to significantly strengthen our IP as well as discovering new opportunities in revenue generating markets. Without doubt our team has shown its unique ability in the medical cannabis space and we're continuing to take strides to becoming a leader in this market."
Shares in eSense-Lab are up 5.88 per cent to $0.18 per share at 11.33am AEDT.
