DIVERSE CITY CAREERS JOINS FORCES WITH FEMECONOMY

DIVERSE City Careers (DCC) has added a consumer activism element to its growing network of partners to advance gender equality.
The jobsite for women has teamed up with shopping for equality website Femeconomy to offer approved brands a 10 per cent discount on DCC's services.
"DCC identifies and collaborates with partners who assist companies to move towards diversified workplaces faster and who are creating meaningful change towards gender equality," DCC co-founder Valeria Ignatieva (pictured left) says.
"We believe Femeconomy's approach to consumer activism around gender equality is going to make a positive impact."
DCC co-founder Gemma Lloyd (pictured right) says gender equality in Australia is on the decline, sliding from 36th position in 2015 to 46 this year on the World Economic Forum's Gender Gap Index.
"Female participation in the workforce is one of the key indicators of gender equality used by the World Economic Forum," Lloyd says.
"DCC has tremendous success in the market, helping companies diversify their workplaces and assisting women to progress their careers while balancing personal and family commitments."
Femeconomy informs consumers which brands have at least 30 per cent of women on the board of directors or are 50 per cent female-owned. More than 700 brands meet the approval criteria out of 2000 on the site.
DCC's list of endorsed employers for women include Atlassian, BHP Billiton, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Caltex and Cbus.
"The key motivator for us to create Femeconomy was that women make 85 per cent of purchase decisions," Femeconomy co-founder Jade Collins says.
"Femeconomy steers women towards brands that are working towards gender equality not just giving lip service to it."
The announcement follows a partnership between DCC and Jobs Shared earlier this month, to provide more than 30,000 subscribers access to flexible work solutions.
