BUSINESS leaders should remember to focus on personal goals, as well as organisational, for a balanced lifestyle, says The Executive Connection chair Harvey Martin.
“Personal goals provide some balance of life and purpose for enduring the rigours of the role of CEO,” he says.
“Most executives are too busy establishing themselves in the tangible world and therefore allocate little time for self-exploration,” he says.
TEC chief Nikki Potter says personal goal setting can be an effective business tool that is often overlooked.
“Many CEOs are good at setting and achieving business goals, like growth or acquisition, but let personal ones slide.
“Most have lost the art of maintaining a good, healthy work and lifestyle balance.
“The key to success is setting goals that are achievable, meaningful and measurable – and then spending time working towards them,” she says.
