CARDNO OPENS FIFTH NEW ZEALAND OFFICE

INFRASTRUCTURE firm Cardno Limited (ASX:CDD) has opened a new office in New Zealand, to accommodate growing demand for its services in Auckland.

The Brisbane-based company has four other offices in New Zealand, including Wellington, Christchurch, Taupo and Hastings.

Cardno New Zealand manager Darcy Brittliff (pictured) says the company has a long history with the country and the new office will ensure it continues.

"We have seen a growing demand for our services in the Auckland region recently and decided that in order to adequately service these clients, we needed to have a local presence," Brittliff says.

"We have extensive experience working across New Zealand on a range of project types and sizes, from the Hornby Hub Upgrade in Christchurch, Whitby Residential development and Duck Creek restoration project in Porirua, to the Waikanae water treatment plant and river recharge scheme and public and Iwi consultation and implementation of the Opoutama wastewater scheme and treatment plant on the Mahia Peninsula."

Brittliff says the company has already commenced work with Auckland Council to help protect the local estuarine ecosystem, Kaipara Harbour and numerous stream restoration projects.

"Our expertise across our broad service offering means we can add real value to projects in the region, and we look forward to taking part in many more as we continue to grow our presence in the region to service our clients," he says.

"For us it is important to be where our clients are, we understand the importance of having someone local.

"We see big opportunities for growth here in Auckland and we are excited for the future."
