SELL My Car has identified Queensland as a strong growth market for its business, with the car-buying service opening a new branch on the Gold Coast.
The Burleigh Heads location is one of 13 centres to open across Australia, including Townsville, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Beenleigh.
Sell My Car retail services director Alan Holgate says consumers in search of an alternative method to sell their vehicles have been turning to the company.
"Sell My Car first opened in Brisbane, however in response to the strong demand for the service in Queensland we moved quickly to open the additional sites around the state including the Gold Coast," Holgate says.
"The buying centres at Burleigh Heads and Kunda Park are currently only open three days a week, however we're currently looking at opening them up five days a week."
Participants enter their car's details on the website to receive an instant valuation, then follow up with an appointment at the centre to finalise the deal.
Holgate says the process of selling privately can take up to five months, compared to potentially 24 hours using the buying service.
"The fact we have been buying cars in record numbers over the last few months, reinforces the fact there is a strong demand for a trustworthy way for people to sell their cars easily and quickly," he says.
"By keeping our costs and margins low, we can pay them as much as we are able to in order to help them sell their car immediately, without any hassles and with guaranteed payment within 24 hours of the sale.
"Also, we know it helps buyers negotiate a good deal when they can visit a dealership to buy a new car with cash in their pocket, instead of relying on receiving a generous trade-in figure to get the deal done."
Holgate says people are also using the website as a valuation tool, to get an idea of how much their car is worth.
Located at Township Drive, the Gold Coast site is open from Thursday to Saturday.
Sell My Car is owned by Cox Automotive and was established in Victoria in 2014. The company recently purchased its 1500th vehicle.
