Wrapping up on Sunday was the Brisbane International, a now world-renowned tennis tournament that locals and travellers flock to.
But from next year the competition is going to look a little bit different.
The tournament has been chosen as a host for some key men's games in the ATP Cup final, a new competition that's set to lure in some of the best tennis stars from around the globe.
Sydney has won the hosting rights for the finals of the inaugural 24-team tennis tournament beginning in January 2020.
Brisbane and Sydney will host the group stages, along with a third Australian yet to be announced.
The women will continue to play the elite level international competition at the Brisbane International.
Queensland premier Anastacia Palaszczuk says that the new ATP competition will lure in higher profile players to Brisbane thanks to the increased prize money and higher-ranking points.
"The ATP Cup will have a bigger international following ensuring we continue to attract tennis fans from around the country and the world to Brisbane to cheer on their favourite players," says Palaszczuk.
"On top of that, the Brisbane International will continue to host the world's best female players at Tennyson which will be the only women's tennis event in Australia that week."
Head of Major Events at Tennis Australia Cameron Pearson says he is excited to bring the best players to Queensland for the new competition.
"Over the last decade, with the support of the Queensland Government and Brisbane Marketing, we have seen the Brisbane International grow to become the nation's most successful tennis tournament outside the Australian Open," says Pearson.
"In 2020, the Brisbane International will continue to grow with the world's best male tennis players beginning their season in Brisbane in the all new ATP Cup which will see the players teaming up to represent their country for a share in 750 ATP Ranking points and $15m USD in prize money."
The new tournament will be played across ten days in the lead u to the Australian Open and will feature teams from 24 countries.
The ATP Cup will begin on Friday 3 January 2020.
