BRISBANE'S BEST BUILDERS REVEALED

MASTER Builders Brisbane has once again announced the local industry leaders for 2016 at the annual Brisbane Housing & Construction Awards ceremony, held at the Convention Centre last Friday.

A total of 53 winners were announced on the night with Gala Homes and Watpac Construction taking out this year's top honours.

Gala Homes received the house of the year award for its low-set luxury masterpiece 'the Allen residence,' a contemporary home complete with trimmings of class and elegance to the highest degree.

With five bedrooms, an impressive seven bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen with butler's pantry and a huge integrated alfresco area, this home is all about the "wow factor."

Watpac also edged out the competition to win the project of the year title for its 34-storey addition to Brisbane's skyline at 180 Ann Street, a tower boasting almost 60,000sqm of prime commercial space and facilities.

Incorporating smart technology and exceptional environmentally-friendly design, the '180 Brisbane' project sets the tone for the future of Brisbane's high-rises.

Master Builders' executive director Grant Galvin has congratulated each of the winners this year, noting the exceptional benchmarks hit by all entrants.

"The standard we have seen this year is incredible and demonstrates the impeccable talent and expertise of our industry," says Galvin.

"The Housing & Construction Awards provide an opportunity to recognise this talent, and it is great that after 29 years, they continue to be sought after by the state's top builders and tradespeople."
