The new Bartercard licensee in France marks the second one in Europe after BPS launched Bartercard last year.
Marc-William Attie, who is set to lead the new marketplace, is the owner of Business Network International, the world's largest networking and business referral organisation which has approximately 18,000 members across 200 chapters.
Bartercard International CEO Brian Hall says the addition of France to the network presents new opportunities for the company, as there are more than 3 million small businesses currently operating in the country.
"France is the second Bartercard licensee in Europe following in the steps of the UK and these are really exciting times as we break new ground and grow into different parts of the world," says Hall.
"Starting out in 1991, I am pleased of where we've come today and counting France as the ninth country in our global network is truly exciting."
General manager for Bartercard France Arnaud Alacir says the initial aim is to target certain popular sectors for new members.
"We have a goal of achieving large growth in a short period through a targeted plan of membership aiming at tourism, the wine industry and other key sectors," says Alacir.
"We will aim to grow the Paris region initially and then look to open other offices under our control throughout France."
Off the back of France, Bartercard is planning to launch licensees in other new countries however at this stage the locations remain undisclosed.
