Aussie e-sports platform to launch in Latin America

Listed esports platform provider Esports Mogul (ASX: ESH) is set to launch in the Latin American market following its new partnership with one of the region's largest publishers.

Esports Mogul has entered into an agreement with Axeso5, one of Latin America's largest online video games publishers.

Planned for the second quarter of 2018, Axeso5 will be the exclusive Latin American partner for the company's gaming tournament platform Mogul Arena.

Mogul Arena will be rolled out into Axeso5's network of over 7000 cybercafés throughout Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia.

The Latin American group has a registered user base of more than 14 million active gamer accounts.

In 2017, the gaming market in South America was valued at $4.4 billion and accounted for 4.1 per cent of the global gaming market. Eports Mogul says its a sector brimming with potential, growing 13.9 per cent from 2016 to 2017 alone.

The Axeso5 exclusive games available on Mogul Arena will be co-branded, and Axeso5 will continue to provide its localised payments system to its users, which will be integrated into the Mogul Arena platform.

Managing director of Esports Mogul, Gernot Abl, says the deal is particularly important considering Axeso5 is the leading video game brand in Latin America.

"As the recognised leading video gaming brand in Latin America, Axeso5 is our ideal partner in the region, and we look forward to utilising their extensive regional expertise and experience, coupled with the market-leading functionality of the Mogul Arena platform to become a key player in the Latin American esports market," says Abl.

Axeso5 CEO Christian Schweizer says this partnership will be a brand new phenomenon in the region.

"We partnered with Esports Mogul to bring the revolution of esports to Latin America," says Schweizer.

"With the integration of the most relevant competitive games like DOTA 2, CS: GO, League of Legends, World of Tanks, Vainglory, Overwatch and many others, Mogul Arena is an outstanding product that delivers a smooth competitive gaming experience like no others we have played."

Esports is one of the fasted growing industries in the world with 2.2 billion gamers across all platforms globally and the video game market size estimated to be US$116 billion.

The partnership with Axeso5 is yet another major coup for the newly listed Esports Mogul. The group only launched its Mogul Arena online platform at the beginning of 2018 but already scored major points with gamers by integrating with the most popular video game in the world League of Legends.

For all intents and purposes it's the 'soccer' of e-sports, with 24 teams each year vying for its annual World Championship title and a top prize pool of more than US$5 million.

In 2016 it was reported that around 100 million active users played League of Legends each month, both competitively and socially.

The announcement has seen the group's shares skyrocket up 20.59 per cent to $0.2 per share at 12.47pm AEDT.
