A year after touching down in Australia, Amazon has launched a new fashion shopfront packed with Aussie labels and designers.
Called The Local Fashion Store, the curated selection of over 150 brands includes players like Local Supply, Lorna Jane, Review, Gazman, Rip Curl and Crumpler.
Head of Amazon Fashion Australia Angela Langmann says the new shopfront is Amazon's way of prioritising Australian designers for Australian consumers.
"We are really excited to be empowering some brilliant homegrown talent by putting them front and centre on our Fashion store," says Langmann.
"We know Aussies love to shop local and we want to help them do just that with our Amazon Fashion 2018 Local Brand Award and The Local Fashion Store."
As part of the launch of The Local Fashion Store, Amazon has announced a new award that will give 15 new Australian brands the chance to win a $75,000 marketing package to accelerate their growth.
Called the Amazon Fashion Local Brand Award, the marketplace is selecting a winner based off popular vote on a shortlist of upcoming brands.
Local Supply, NOVO, and Silent Theory are just three of the brands vying for the cold, hard $75k.
This latest push for Australian customers follows its recent logistics expansion in Sydney.
The Seattle-based company opened a brand-new fulfilment centre in Moorebank, in Sydney's south-west, back in August.
The latest fulfilment centre is nearly double the size of the first Australian fulfilment centre in Melbourne and should rapidly increase the speed at which Amazon can get products to customers.
