ACQUISITION PROPELS LITSUPPORT INTO WIDER MARKET

IN A move to expand services, legal admin specialist LitSupport has acquired privately owned Brisbane-based business Confidental Document Solutions (CDS).

Brothers Tim and Malcolm Hall, alongside director Michael Wrobel, first opened the doors to CDS 10 years ago, providing secure document-handling services to corporate clients in Brisbane.

LitSupport managing director Brad Gabriel says the purchase is expected to broaden his company's clientele beyond the legal market, with more than 50 per cent of CDS revenue derived from the commercial sector.

"CDS is an ideal fit with LitSupport, adding volume and new customer relationships to [the company's] current Queensland operation," says Gabriel.

The company fusion isn't expected to lead to job losses, or to either business downsizing their current structures.

"Both LitSupport and CDS have run very efficient operations and will find synergies in office space and administration rather than staff redundancies," says Gabriel.

"The best aspects of both companies are being leveraged to deliver improved services to our clients."

The deal comes on the heels of LitSupport being acquired by The Information Management Group, a subsidiary of New Zealand company Freightways Limited (NZX: FRE).

Freightways also owns the Queensland-based Shred-X, a national document destruction business.
