Princess display fit for royalty

More than 1500 square metres of on-water display and $12 million worth of luxury boats will create the largest showcase of Princess Yachts ever seen in Australia.

Leading the display will be the Australian premiere of the new Princess 78 Motor Yacht valued at just over $6.9 million – the first of the new models released from the UK luxury boat manufacturer.

Princess Australia dealer principal Alan Paterson, says the P78 embodies the ‘new look’ Princess styling and celebrates more than 40 years of design and engineering excellence.

“There are subtle changes that have renewed the entire range, it has been a massive investment for the company,” says Paterson.

“Shape and profile changes have updated the styling but you can still see where mum and dad came from – the Princess pedigree is still evident.”

Paterson says a whole new interior has added to the worldwide interest the new models have drawn.

New features include innovative electronic touch panels, LCD televisions, new-design lounge suites, LED lighting and in the case of the P78; three immaculately presented guest cabins with en-suites and full-time crew quarters.

Paterson says a lot of time and energy has been put into the Princess display and the team is ‘quietly confident’ in market confidence.

“Brokerage is steadily robust – I wouldn’t say gangbusting but at least there is positive sentiment out there,” he says.

“We’ve seen some confidence in the market and have had some good enquiries. Around two boats a week are being sold and we expect this to continue with three new builds leaving London in mid-May.

“Everyone will like the boats – the question is are the buyers there and ready? The P78 in particular is very highly spec’d – nearly everything has a hydraulic platform now but on this model everything is hydraulic.

“We have invested in the best possible location to display our range in a convenient on-water display. It’s important that our owners and potential owners enjoy their boat show experience.”

Along with the 78 Motor Yacht, Princess will also unveil the P62, P72, Princess 54 Motor Yacht and the smooth curves and sleek lines of the Princess V45 – offering the power and punch of a serious sports yacht.
