NEW VOTE SET AS PFORR DUMPED FROM CHAMBER

NEW VOTE SET AS PFORR DUMPED FROM CHAMBER

THE Gold Coast North Chamber of Commerce (GCNCC) is poised to elect a new president next week after dumping former city councilor Grant Pforr (pictured) from the role on Wednesday night.

A special meeting of the chamber passed a no confidence motion in Pforr, who assumed the president’s role after losing his seat on the council in last year’s elections.

The chamber also passed motion to have membership for Pforr’s business, Permacrete Pty Ltd, revoked.

Pforr did not attend the meeting which brought to a head the rocky relationship reported between the former president and the chamber’s management committee.

The most likely candidate to stand for election at next week’s GCNCC meeting is Karen Cane, who has been vice-president for a number of years.
