JUPITERS CASINO OPENS OUTDOOR RESTAURANT

JUPITERS Hotel and Casino has officially opened its first outdoor restaurant as part of a $345 million redevelopment plan.

Award-winning Sydney firm Luchetti Krelle designed the 240-seat venue, named Cucina Vivo, to have a "distinct Italian seaside atmosphere" as it overlooks the newly-renovated pool area.

Luchetti Krelle previously designed Jupiters' Japanese restaurant Kiyomi, as well as the Fat Noodle at the Treasury Casino and Hotel in Brisbane.

Jupiters executive chef Dustin Osuch says the food - as well as the centrepiece two-metre wood-fired oven - is already attracting attention.

"Cucina Vivo showcases some of the finest cooking skills to bring the very best authentic Italian cuisine to the Gold Coast," he says.

"The wood-fired pizzas are unsurprisingly a crowd favourite."

Jupiters includes several other dining options, including the Chinese restaurant Zen and the café-style Spinners.

Cucina Vivo is open for dinner from 5.30pm and for lunch from 12pm on Saturdays and Sundays. It also has a 12-seat private dining area.

When complete, the Jupiters redevelopment will include a day spa, improved gaming, and a six-star hotel tower.

The full redevelopment is scheduled to be ready for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. It is expected to generate 1500 jobs across 2015 and 2016.
